Christine Hover enjoys working with teens, adults, seniors and families. A great deal of her past career was spent working in and with the child welfare system giving her experience with individuals and families facing a variety of issues including but not limited to, child and spousal abuse, substance abuse, serious mental health issues, involvement with the criminal justice system, depression and anxiety, family dysfunction, and parenting challenges. Her degree in Marriage and Family Therapy has trained her to view the individual as part of a system including their immediate and extended families and the social and community systems in which they were raised.
Christine is life-long Catholic and a member of Holy Apostles Church in Meridian Idaho where she enjoys participating in the Arts and Environment Ministry. Christine has been married for forty years to her husband, Craig and has two grandchildren. Christine grew up in Rockford, Illinois and arrived in Idaho almost four years ago via Dallas, Texas and Southern California. Christine’s first career was as a costume designer for primarily, stage productions. She enjoys reading, animals, gardening and learning about and participating in fitness and nutrition. Christine is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT-8788) in the State of Idaho. She has a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Northwestern University, a Master of Fine Arts in Theatrical Design from Southern Methodist University, and a Master of Arts in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling from California Family Study Center. She has had additional training in Nurturing Parenting, Emotion-focused Therapy (EFT), and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). |
