PATRICK BARGA
Clinical Counselor, LPC
Boise or e-Counseling

Patrick is a Licensed Professional Counselor/National Certified Counselor who specializes in Marriage & Pre-Marital Counseling. He also provides Individual Counseling for anyone struggling with family and relationship issues, depression, anxiety and panic, coping with stress, pornography addiction, and men's issues.

Patrick completed an intensive 66-credit graduate counseling program and 1000+ hour supervised internship through Northwest Nazarene University to receive his M.S. in Counseling, with an emphasis in Marriage Counseling and Logotherapy (meaning based therapy). He also has a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Family Studies from BSU. He has received Level 1 Gottman Training, is a certified Prepare & Enrich Facilitator, and is trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

In his therapeutic approach, he aims to help men and women communicate better, be self-aware, and be healthy individuals within a relationship. In his individual therapy he helps people find their deepest sources of meaning and whenever possible, Patrick tries to incorporate the client’s faith in the counseling process. Research shows our sources of meaning and hope can be used to help work through any struggles in our lives.

Patrick was born and raised in southern Idaho and loves the people and landscapes of this great state. He has been active in Idaho’s Catholic community for years. He has been a youth ministry volunteer at St. John’s Cathedral, helped with retreats and small groups at the Bronco Catholic Student Center at BSU, and currently attends and assists with Firepit, the Treasure Valley young adult ministry. He enjoys spending time with his wife and family, camping, rock climbing, hockey, playing violin, and “nerding out” over theology or The Lord of the Rings. He is currently a Parishioner at St. John’s and his Catholic Faith is a part of his daily life.
“I believe many of us come to realize we aren't living our best lives but don't change because we're too busy or don't know how to start. Sometimes an outside perspective with a caring, supportive approach is all that is needed to begin living better. Those of us who have been through counseling, have discovered that while difficult, the process is the push we needed to finally change our lives for the better. So don't let any more precious time pass you by; your best self/life/relationship awaits.”
