As a counselor with experience in military issues, medical trauma, grief counseling, rape, molestation, depression, and anxiety, Amy has created a therapeutic environment that enables clients to feel safe enough to disclose and let go of deeply held pain. She respects client readiness. She utilizes client strengths and values to assist them in strengthening their weaknesses and building a strong foundation for the future. Amy is adept at helping young women make a healthy transition into adulthood. She assists clients undergoing big changes, like children leaving the house or entering into marriage. She uses a Biological-Psychological-Social-Spiritual approach to wellness, that is holistic and empowers clients to reach their goals.
Amy Ives is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Idaho. She graduated from the American Military University with a B.A. in Sociology, and Liberty University with a M.A. in Counseling, with a specialty of Marriage and Family Therapy. She is certified in Prepare and Enrich. Amy works primarily with cases in trauma, transitions in life, depression, anxiety, and family issues that affect client’s ability to socialize and be confident. She enjoys people. She would say that she loves to listen more than speak. She can geek out about medical and psychological issues at times, but ultimately believes her job is to love everyone who crosses her path. Her favorite Saint is Mother Teresa. Amy is a practicing Roman Catholic who lives a very deep faith life. She has two teenagers and a dog. She is an avid hiker and a vegetable gardener. She enjoys fishing, camping, and hunting. She spends her free time at Church, in the mountains, writing, or reading. |
