Counseling is available for adults, adolescents, and children in a variety of forms, including individual, couple, and family sessions, all designed to help with life’s many difficulties.

Counseling services are provided in-person at the Boise office, and e-Counseling services (online counseling) are available to anyone in the state of Idaho. About Our Counseling

The Catholic Charities of Idaho Counseling Program has served the Idaho community since 2008 and is part of our agency's larger mission of assisting our brothers and sisters in need. A ministry of the Diocese of Boise, our counseling services integrate psychological training and principles, in a manner that is consistent with Catholic Social Teaching, and rooted in our rich tradition of serving others as an expression of Christian love and service. We offer counseling services to individuals of all faith traditions and backgrounds.

CCI is staffed by trained and licensed clinical counselors who offer counseling services based on psychological training and research, and professional credentialing requirements. We are committed to helping empower clients to overcome emotional and or behavioral challenges that prevent them from achieving their full potential. Our staff bring compassion and diverse clinical experience to the services we offer.

COUNSELING INTERN

Licensed Counselor Intern

  • Counseling – or psychotherapy – is a professional relationship with a properly trained therapist designed to help you address personal and interpersonal functioning in different settings and life circumstances.  The counseling relationship differs from social friendship and the traditional doctor-patient relationship.  Rather than giving you advice or a specific course of treatment, counselors primarily serve as skilled listeners – helping you understand issues, discover opportunities and intention, and a way to explore and manage feelings.  This is all designed to help you live life more completely.  Remember – it is a sign of health to recognize when you face a problem and to seek help to address it!

  • It is common for us to encounter difficulties in life and to seek assistance and support from friends and relatives.  Counseling services are helpful when such concerns persist, if they continually interfere with family and intimate relationships, and when difficulties affect school and work performance.

  • No!  Our services are available to people of all backgrounds and religious identities.

  • Yes.  We accept many insurance payments, please contact us at 208.345.6031 to see if your insurance coverage is accepted.

  • Yes.  We have Spanish speaking counselors on staff.  For clients whose first language is not English or Spanish, we make use of translation support and interpretation services.

  • Absolutely! If your location or life circumstances make it difficult to get to in-office counseling, e-counseling is readily available. Perhaps you’re housebound, or ill, you travel a lot, or lack dependable transportation, or simply live some distance from a CCI office, all these make online counseling a sensible alternative. All of our counselors offer e-Counseling services.

  • CCI offers three ways of covering the cost of professional counseling services. We can bill most third party insurance plans (i.e. Blue Cross) directly, note that we do not accept Medicaid or Medicare insurance. We offer an affordable cash rate. In addition, we offer a sliding scale rate based on income and family size. All counseling services are subsidized by the generosity of the Catholic community. Please call 208-345-6031 for details.

  • Easy!  Simply call 208-345-6031 or complete a request for counseling above.

  • In your first session, you will be asked questions that will help us clarify your current situation and past history.  To help with this process, you will receive an information packet at or before your first appointment.  Your therapist will use the first session to better understand who you are and how we can help you.

  • Yes, always!  You can expect that what you discuss in sessions will not be shared with anyone, unless you ask us to  by signing an Informed Consent Agreement (i.e. to share information with your healthcare team),  or it is required by law.  As part of your initial paperwork you will receive a confidential disclosure agreement, which outlines confidentiality commitments.
