Catholic Charities of Idaho was deeply blessed by the life and generosity of Edwin Muegerl, a lifelong Catholic and devoted Idaho farmer whose faith and humility shaped all he did. Ed lived simply and gave quietly, choosing a life of selflessness so that others might find stability, hope, and healing.

Before his passing at age 95, Ed made the decision to remember Catholic Charities of Idaho in his estate — a gift that will allow the organization to expand mental health services and other essential programs that serve individuals and families in need across the state. His legacy of faith, compassion, and integrity continues to bear fruit, transforming lives one person at a time.

“Ed’s generosity is truly beyond words,” said CCI Executive Director Eddie Trask. “Though we never had the privilege of knowing him personally, his life and values perfectly embody what Catholic Charities of Idaho stands for — faith in action, quiet sacrifice, and love for neighbor.”

As his great-niece Tammy Colver shared, Ed “wanted to know his money is with good, honest, hardworking people.” That simple wish reflects not only his deep trust in CCI, but also the quiet integrity and steadfast faith that guided his entire life.

Because of Ed’s extraordinary gift, CCI will continue to walk alongside those facing emotional distress, isolation, and uncertainty — offering counseling, family support, legal guidance, and community connection. Through this ongoing work, Ed’s generosity will continue to strengthen lives and uplift communities throughout Idaho.
