CATHLEEN BOOTH
Clinical Counselor, LCPC
Boise or e-Counseling
Cathleen Booth is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC-7497) in the State of Idaho.    She has a Bachelor of Science in Business and Management from University of Redlands, and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University.

Cathleen works primarily with young adults, adults and couples. She has expertise in the following counseling approaches:

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
  • Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Cathleen has extensive experience helping people heal from trauma, depression, and anxiety.  She specializes in working with couples who are struggling with distressed relationships.  Cathleen offers pre-marital counseling using the Prepare/Enrich program.  Cathleen is a frequent speaker on mental health topics in the community, volunteers with the Rachel’s Vineyard ministry, and is the author of the recently published book Mercy & Grace on the Camino de Santiago.
“I believe we all have a story and that our emotions make perfect sense given our story.  They may not make perfect sense to someone else (because their story is different), but given your family of origin and your experiences, your emotions make perfect sense.   Your behavior makes sense too. We all have deep emotional longings to belong, to be accepted and even cherished for who we are.  When those longings are not met, we find ways of getting what we need.  Not all of this behavior is helpful or healthy, but it works for us on some level, or we wouldn’t do it.

Much of the work of counseling is about understanding how your past affects you in the here and now - emotionally, mentally and behaviorally.  You will develop a deep trust with your counselor who can help you make sense of your story thus far, and accompany you as you decide what changes you would like to see for your future.”
