As the leader of CCI’s counseling program, Matthew has created a therapeutic environment that respects and utilizes client’s strengths and values to empower clients to reach personal goals and promote healing on a deep level. Matthew brings over thirty years of corporate leadership experience and twenty years of experience as a licensed therapist to CCI.

Matthew Geske is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the State of Idaho. He graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. in Philosophy, the University of Oregon with a M.S. in Labor Relations, and from Western Seminary with a M.A. in Counseling. Matthew works primarily with men and with women who have experienced trauma as a result of a man’s behavior, (pornography use, physical or emotional abuse, addiction, sexual acting out). He has expertise in the following counseling methods:

  • Motivational Interviewing (MI)
  • Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Logotherapy (finding meaning in suffering)

Matthew is an active member of Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Catholic Church in Meridian Idaho. Matthew is married and has seven adult children, and one grandchild and counting. Matthew grew up in upstate New York and has spent the majority of his adult life west of the continental divide. He is an avid skier, soccer player and enjoys all things outdoors as a balance to his work as a counselor.
“The difficulties we face come at periods of change and opportunity. Confronting the unknown with courage, strength and wisdom is not easy. I specialize in helping those who struggle with emotional pain, addictions, and a lack of meaning and purpose in life.”
