We often have unhealthy behaviors that we would like to change. When you seek counseling to help with that change, it is important to look at what need that behavior is trying to fill. Maybe it’s a need that was never fulfilled in your past or maybe there is a lie that you came to believe about yourself such as “I am unlovable”. We need to understand the motivation behind the behavior and try to find healthy ways to get that need met. Often, we need to hear from Jesus himself to tell us the truth about the lies we have believed. “You are a child of God and you are loved.” I would like to try and help you and your family to hear God’s voice and learn new ways to express your feelings and needs. |
